About Saela

The default wasn't built for you.

Saela is the context layer for a woman's life. The product interprets her body's signals alongside the life she is actually living, so she can make decisions that fit who she is.

Founder

"Context is freedom."

Maggie Lusk founded Saela. She did not set out to build a company. After years of navigating hormonal health in environments that offered little context and limited understanding, she built the first version of Saela for herself. She found that adaptive, personalized interpretation was the layer she had been missing.

What Saela does today is what she needed then. The app reads a woman's biology, her symptoms, and the shape of her actual day at the same time. It explains why she feels the way she does, and what to do about it. Her health and chat data stay separated from her identity. Used only in service of the woman they belong to.

Everything, in context.

Most cycle apps describe. Most wearables optimize. Most hormone tools test. Saela interprets. The product reads biology, lifestyle, and symptoms together, over time, so the picture a woman gets back is the one she can act on.

This is what context means at Saela. Context for her energy. Context for her sleep. Context for the conversation she is about to have with her doctor. The breadth is the product. The breadth is what makes daily life legible.

What Saela is not

Saela is a horizontal product in a category that has been built vertically. That distinction is what shapes the work.

  • Not a cycle app. Cycle is one signal among many. Never the defining one.
  • Not a hormone tracker. Hormones are part of the picture. The picture is bigger than hormones.
  • Not a biohacker tool. Saela helps women understand themselves. Not optimize themselves.
  • Not a wellness app. Wellness is a category that sells vibes. Saela is not that.
  • Not a medical device. Saela interprets signals. It does not diagnose.
  • Not a therapy or meditation app. Saela may eventually route a woman to those. It does not provide them.

Where Saela is headed

Today, Saela interprets biology and lifestyle. Over the next two to three years, Saela becomes the connective tissue between a woman and the specialists her body tells her she needs. Therapists, primary care, gynecologists, dermatologists, nutritionists, GI specialists, sleep doctors. The product gets her to the right expert at the right time with the right context already attached.

The word that holds this together is context. Every expansion is a new kind of context. Context for the skin. Context for the gut. Context for the conversation you are about to have with your doctor. The word is the throughline.

Who Saela is for

Saela is not for every woman. It is for the woman who suspects, correctly, that something about her daily experience is off, and has been told for years that it is not. She is tired. She has been quietly blaming herself. She is not looking for a movement. She is looking for something to work.

The high performer

She has optimized her career, her schedule, her supplements. None of it has solved the exhaustion underneath. She wants plain-spoken competence, not another promise.

The new mother

One to three years postpartum. Her body feels foreign, her doctor calls it typical. She is starved for understanding, not more advice.

The perimenopausal woman

Her cycle, sleep, mood, and focus are shifting. She wants clinical honesty about what is happening, not a supplement bundle.

Where Saela sits in the market

Flo made women's health trackable. Oura made it optimizable. Hormona made it testable. Saela makes it legible to her. Where the others describe, Saela interprets. Where they stay neutral, Saela takes a side. The side Saela takes is hers.
